SlideScan is a multi model flatbed scanner adaptor which can be used with most flatbed scanners (probably 3 out of 5). Before you read further it is ESSENTIAL that you check that your model of flatbed is compatible with SlideScan. If it is NOT compatible consider these alternatives.
SlideScan is a multi model flatbed scanner adaptor. With SlideScan you can digitise your 35mm and medium format slides and negatives using your own flatbed scanner. These digitised images can be printed on a inkjet printer either as photorealistic or preview prints or used for web site images or burnt onto a CDROM using a CD Writer for archiving. SlideScan is a lot less expensive than every film scanner available today.
The size of photorealistic prints obtained with SlideScan depends on the resolution of your scanner. With 600 dots per inch resolution scanners, 6"x4" (A6) and 10"x10" (A4) prints are obtained from 35mm and medium format. Larger prints can be obtained with 1200 dpi flatbeds.
To use SlideScan the first time, place it on the flatbed glass, turn the SlideScan calibration screw (alters the angle of the SlideScan mirrors) so that an even illumination is obtained under SlideScan. There is no need for further calibration ever again. Place the slide or negative on the glass and scan using your flatbed scanner software.
