C-Dictionary
is a portable dictionary stored on your C-Pen. C-Dictionary can translate
single words into another language. It does not translate sentences. You have
to string the meanings of individual words together to make sense of a sentence!
Just as would have to do when you use a paper dictionary.
Each C-Dictionary contains EITHER a two way dictionary (eg French to English & English to French) OR a one way dictionary (eg English - English).
To use C-Dictionary simply scan the word and translate! The result of the single word translation is displayed in less than a second. Imagine carrying a heavy 1200 page dictionary weighing several kgs on your travels. C Pen typically stores over 140,000 words and / or phrases & weighs just 100 grams.Top
One C-Dictionary is included for FREE with every C-Pen 600C or C-Pen 800. With the 600C model you can choose to install ANY C-Dictionary. With C-Pen 800C the English - English Oxford C-Dictionary (from Jan 2003) is preinstalled on the pen by C Technologies, the C-Pen manufacturers. However C-Dictionary normally needs to be downloaded from the Internet and then loaded onto C-Pen. The download will typically take 20 - 30 minutes but a further 30-60 minutes is required to install it onto your C-Pen (the file needs to be unzipped and registered before use). NO! C-Pen can SCAN and read whole paragraphs at one sweep but it will only translate individual words just like a normal dictionary. It is up to you to put together the individual word translations to give an entire sentence or paragraph meaning! However C-Pen can look up the translation of words in less than a second so its much faster too string together words and thus make meaning out of them quicker than using a paper dictionary. In summary, C-Dictionary is a dictionary and not a phrase or sentence translator. However another product Systran Personal CAN translate whole sentences or paragraphs!Top
